What is a Trapping Program?

When a property becomes inundated with a flock of pigeons (6-8 or more), a trapping program must be initiated to eliminate the birds residing at the subject property. Many times, this is the first step in effective pigeon control. Typically, a trapping program spans approximately 30 days, utilizing two phases: baiting & trapping. Baiting can last 7-14 days with the trap doors open, so the pigeons can get comfortable going in and out of the trap. Once the pigeons get comfortable with their new food source, we close the doors so they can enter but not escape. This part of the program requires the most labor and sets us apart from other pigeon control companies. We check and remove trapped pigeons every other day to be as humane as possible. Most pigeon control companies only check their traps once a week, leaving the pigeons to die inside without shade or water. Our custom-made traps allow us the safest & effective method of bird elimination available to the consumer. The trapping approach also eliminates the need for poisons which can be harmful to both humans & their pets. Due to the extreme weather in Las Vegas, we only offer trapping services from mid-September till the end of May. Putting a trap up in the middle of summer would require us to be on-site daily to trap and remove humanely.

Pigeons have a homing instinct, so if they are released, they will fly back to where they were trapped. Whenever possible, the trapped pigeons are reintroduced back into the ecosystem by donating the pigeons to local birders who use them as a food source for their birds of prey.
